Slowly....!

Well the only thing going fast this week is the petrol in my car!!!! But on a bright note, our roof tiles got delivered today! It's like Christmas every time we get a delivery because I can't remember what colours we chose (and have been too slack to contact the builder to get a copy!), so I get a nice surprise each time! Hopefully there will be no nasty ones!!! You can never really know exactly how the colours you've picked will come together (unless you've copied the display - which we didn't!), but as long as our house doesn't become the 'you know that dreadful looking house with the awful colours on the nice drive to the Yarra Valley', house, I will be happy!!!!

Plumbing and Gas Fitting

Did my usual drive-bys during the week and didn't think anything had been done since Tuesday. As usual, I was wrong! Dave dropped up to visit the house this weekend, coming home with the news that our plumbing and gas fitting had been done! Next, I think, is the 'wrapping', so hopefully that will get done this week!

My dear brother also dropped in a present to christen our new backyard!!! Now we'll have something to keep the wee ones occupied while we check the house out!

On another note, discovered on Friday that Jett's Prep teacher is also building, with OUR builder and the SAME house design!!!! How crazy is that?!

Gutters and fascias

Our gutters and fascias got put on today! I had a momentary panic when I thought the fascias were the gutters - "oh my god, they're the wrong colour!", until I realised the fascias go on before the gutters! Crisis averted!

Windows and Doors!

Our windows and doors got put in today! How exciting! I think gutters and fascias are the next bit, but there have been no deliveries, so I doubt that they will be done tomorrow, but then, you never know!!!!! 9 weeks until Little Chick arrives! The countdown begins! Nothing like keeping ourselves busy!

What a difference a week makes!

An enormous 'kudos' to our builders, who braved the foul Melbourne weather yesterday, putting all our trusses on! Not to mention the fact that they actually worked this morning as well, doing the frame for the garage, trusses and front portico! Absolutely unbelievable! We are rapt with the progress so far!

Windows & Roof Trusses!

It was a beautiful day today, but we didn't really expect anything to get done as there was no wood on site to make things! But lo and behold, after school we found lots of roof trusses and our windows and sliding doors had been delivered, ready to go! Fingers crossed, though the weather report for the next week is looking decidedly dodgy, so only time will tell!

Wow!

We have a house with all the rooms! I can't believe this has been done in two days! I won't say how long it took our last house to get to this stage - let it just be said it was a LOT longer than two days! We are so excited!

Lookie, lookie!!!

Wow! A beautiful Winter's day in Melbourne and we have boys building frames! This photo was taken at about 3.45pm this afternoon; there was nothing there in the morning! Busy bees which we like to see! Very exciting!

We're about to be framed!

We celebrated our baby's 3rd birthday today and the in-laws paid a visit to our block on their way home! Lo and behold, timber had been delivered! Maybe we should make a habit of not checking, because that seems to be when things get done!!

Anyway, it's back to school tomorrow, so the once-daily visits can start again! The weather forecast isn't as bad this week, so hopefully some good framing can get done!

No news....

Here are the boys on our slab, taken last weekend. Unfortunately no movement on the house in the past week, but the weather has been decidedly crap, so that's no surprise. The next week's weather forecast is also crap, so needless to say, I doubt there will be much movement there either! Oh well, that's what you get for building over Winter!!!!
